Scoliosis in
United Arab Emirates

In the UAE, scoliosis is increasingly recognized as a public health concern, particularly among adolescents. The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) has been proactive in implementing screening programs in schools to detect scoliosis early, as early intervention can significantly improve outcomes.

According to recent health data, scoliosis affects approximately 2-3% of the population globally, and the prevalence in the UAE mirrors this statistic, with an estimated 200,000 to 300,000 people affected.

In the UAE, advanced medical facilities and specialized clinics offer comprehensive care, from non-invasive treatments like 3D correction bracing and Schroth physical therapy to surgical options for severe cases. The Emirates Scoliosis Club has been instrumental in raising awareness and providing support since 2020, working alongside healthcare providers to ensure individuals receive the best possible care.
